Q1. Do I need to register in advance to attend the Sports Day? Can I bring family members or friends?
A1: All TSMC employees are welcome to bring family members and friends to the annual Sports Day. No advance registration is required!
Q2. How many guests can I bring? Can they enter and leave the venue freely?
A2: There is no limit to the number of guests. Guests must be accompanied by a TSMC employee at check-in. After checking in, guests may enter and exit with their admission hand stamps. One employee accompanied by up to four guests may check in at any counter. For five or more guests, please visit the Special Check-in Counter for assistance.
Q3. What time does the Sports Day begin?
A3: The opening performance begins at 08:40. Food and beverage stalls and surrounding activities throughout the venue open at 09:30.
Q4. What are the check-in hours, and where are the check-in locations?
A4: Check-in is available from 07:30 to 14:30 at four locations: (1) the second-floor platform above the main entrance of Zhubei Stadium (intersection of Fuxing East Road, Sec. 1 and Ziqiang 1st Road), recommended for its spacious check-in area; (2) Stadium Gate 1 (Fuxing East Road, Sec. 1); (3) the motorcycle parking lot; and (4) the Second Sports Field (Zhuangjing 1st Road). Please complete check-in by 14:30 to protect your event benefits.
Q5. How do I check in, and what do I need to bring?
A5: At the check-in counter, open the Fay_Event app and log in. Show your Account QR Code and employee ID badge, and tell the staff how many guests are accompanying you.
Q6. What will I receive after checking in?
A6: After successful check-in, employees will receive NT$400 in electronic event credits, a questionnaire gift redemption voucher, a Soccer Ball Painting DIY reservation voucher, a Photo Time reservation voucher, and a Featured Experience reservation voucher. Employees who check in before 08:30 will also receive an additional NT$400 in electronic event credits as an early-bird gift. All these benefits will be automatically credited to your app account once you check in through the app.
Q7. How can I receive the additional NT$400 early-bird bonus?
A7: Complete check-in before 08:30 on the event day to receive an additional NT$400 in electronic event credits.
Q8. Can guests use event credits, redemption vouchers, and reservation vouchers?
A8: Once guests activate their app accounts, employees may transfer event credits to them. Guests may also purchase additional event credits on-site. Guest accounts are limited to credit-based purchases; gift redemption and activity reservations must be completed using an employee account.
Q9. Do event credits expire? Can I pay with cash after using up my credits?
A9: Event credits are valid only on the event day and cannot be exchanged for cash. If you run out, purchase additional credits with cash at an Event Credit Top-up Counter, or use payroll deduction through the app (employees only). Food and beverage stalls accept event credits only, not cash. Exception: sportswear may also be purchased with cash; the TSMC GIFT POP-UP STORE accepts cash and credit cards only.
Note: Sportswear may also be purchased with cash. The TSMC GIFT POP-UP STORE accepts cash and credit cards only.
Q10. Can I check in using my virtual employee ID in TSMC LIFE? What if I forget my ID badge?
A10: Virtual employee IDs are accepted for check-in. If you cannot present either a physical or virtual employee ID, please visit the Special Check-in Counter and provide another form of identification. Staff will assist with verification.
Q11. Can overseas employees receive event credits and enter the venue?
A11: Overseas employees are not eligible to receive event credits. The event is funded by the Taiwan Employee Welfare Committee, whose funds come from TSMC Taiwan business revenue and contributions from employees in Taiwan; therefore, the benefit is available only to Taiwan-based employees. Overseas employees may still activate an event app account, participate in surrounding activities, and attend the Sports Day. To make purchases on-site, they must purchase credits at a top-up counter.
Q12. If I receive NT$400 in event credits and the NT$400 early-bird bonus at the October 24 Sports Day, can I receive another set of credits at the Central or Southern Taiwan events?
A12: The NT$400 early-bird bonus is exclusive to the October 24 Sports Day. The regular NT$400 in event credits (including the official-duty allowance) is counted across the Zhubei, Central Taiwan, and Southern Taiwan events. Each employee may receive this benefit only once per year. Any second or subsequent claim will be deducted from the employee’s salary.
Q13. Is there an alternative benefit for employees who cannot attend the October 24 Sports Day due to work duties?
A13: Employees unable to attend due to official duties (business trips, duty shifts, or scheduled work shifts) will instead receive NT$400 in cash, paid into their salary account and included in their annual personal income. Department secretaries will submit the official-duty lists. Employees may receive either the official-duty allowance or event credits, but not both. Claims are counted across the Zhubei, Central Taiwan, and Southern Taiwan events, with one benefit per employee per year. Any second or subsequent claim will be deducted from the employee’s salary.
Q14. I work at the Central or Southern Taiwan site. Can I decline the regular event credits and receive only the early-bird bonus?
A14: Each employee’s app account contains three categories of credits. Company-issued “Event Credits” appear with a red background. If at least NT$400 in company-issued Event Credits remains unused in your account at the end of the event, you may claim NT$400 at either the subsequent Central Taiwan or Southern Taiwan sports fair. Please note that credits are deducted in this order: Event Credits > Cash-Purchased Credits > Payroll-Deduction Credits. For example, if an employee receives NT$800 in Event Credits, purchases another NT$600 in credits, and spends NT$900, the system first deducts NT$800 in Event Credits and then NT$100 in purchased credits. The remaining NT$500 consists of purchased credits, so the employee is not eligible to claim another NT$400 at the Central or Southern Taiwan event.
